Mike Stratton was an NFL linebacker who played for the Buffalo Bills and San Diego Chargers during his 11 year career. Despite being selected in the 13th round of the 1962 AFL Draft, Stratton went on to play in the AFL All-Star game six years running. During his career, he made 18 interceptions and 30 sacks. Stratton also holds the record for most consecutive games played with the same LB partners at 62 straight games. Stratton helped the Bills to become AFL champions in both the 1964 and 1965 seasons.
During the 1964 AFL championship, Stratton made the famous "hit heard 'round the world." Many believe this play was a turning point for the entire Bills franchise and established them as the dominant team in the AFL. While his career was relatively defined by this one moment, Stratton was consistently a game-changer for the Bills' defense.
Stratton helped honor HearStrong Champion Calen Wright in Knoxville, TN on March 5th, 2013.
