Kaylee Bosetti is celebrated as a HearStrong Champion amongst hearing healthcare industry professionals at the 2013 AudiologyNOW! convention.
Syracuse, NY (April 12, 2013)--During the 2013 AudiologyNOW! conference in Anaheim, CA on April 5th, a crowd gathered around EarQ's booth to meet two champions: AC Green and eight-year-old Kaylee Bosetti.
Diagnosed with hearing loss shortly after her birth, Kaylee, of Red Bluff, CA, received her first pair of hearing devices as an infant.
"I have worn hearing aids since I was 3 1/2 years old," said Kaylee. "(They) have (helped me) do (well) in school, sports and any activity by giving me the confidence I need to be successful. I got to help someone at my school who just got hearing aids because she just found out she couldn't hear very (well)."
Due to her familiarity with wearing her devices, Kaylee has an extremely positive outlook on her hearing health and an inspirational attitude toward overcoming obstacles. Whether in school, playing sports or making friends, Kaylee is determined to live her life to the fullest, each and every day, regardless of her hearing loss.
That is why Kaylee's audiologist, Rita McWilliams, Au.D., of Audiology Associates of Redding in Redding, CA, nominated Kaylee to be named a HearStrong Champion, the award presented by The HearStrong Foundation. The foundation, which recognizes the accomplishments of those who have overcome hearing loss, was so impressed with Kaylee and her inspirational story that it decided to honor her in a big way.
With the help of EarQ, the foundation's main sponsor, and its relationship with the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA), The HearStrong Foundation arranged for three-time NBA Champion AC Green to present Kaylee with her official gold medal and certificate at EarQ's booth.
"Kaylee is such an inspirational little girl," said Ed Keller, president of EarQ and founder of the HearStrong Foundation. "We were so happy to have AC with us to help share her story with the attendees of AudiologyNOW! and beyond."
